Korean challenger Darius one-trick RaiderGO#TWTV0: 56% overall. A dissection of build, runes and matchups — and exactly how he falls apart — from public match data.

On the Korean server, there's a challenger one-trick who has piled up 710,000 mastery points on Darius alone. "RaiderGO#TWTV0", at LP 2407. Their overall win rate is 56% (637-501), and lately it's sat right at an even 50%. We look at their wins, their losses, and their build in full.

What kind of champion is Darius?

Darius Darius is a brainless top-lane fighter who chops opponents down with his axe and executes at 5 stacks of bleed. Close the gap and he wins; get kept at range and he can do nothing — a textbook lane-dominant champion.

  • Passive Passive (Hemorrhage): attacks and abilities apply "bleed." At 5 stacks it deals a big hit of damage and empowers his next attacks
  • Q Q (Decimate): swings his axe in a wide arc. Landing the outer edge deals big damage and heals a lot
  • W W (Crippling Strike): empowers his next basic attack and slows the target
  • E E (Apprehend): pulls enemies toward him and applies armor penetration
  • R R (Noxian Guillotine): executes for true damage scaled to bleed stacks. Resets on a kill

The data from wins and losses

  • Deaths: 2.6 in wins → 5.8 in losses. Losses see deaths surge to roughly 2.2x
  • CS per minute: 9.0 in wins → 7.7 in losses. Winning games see about 1.2x more farm
  • Damage per minute: 818 in wins → 616 in losses. Wins bring about 1.3x more
  • Game length: 27.9 minutes in wins / 24.8 minutes in losses

The pattern of a loss is clear. His losing games end around the 24-minute mark — he falls apart in the early-to-mid game and gets pushed over. Wins, on the other hand, see him stack up CS, stay alive, and buy time. The numbers say it plainly: avoid disasters, just buy time, and he's strong.

Some matchups just don't go his way

His natural enemy is clear-cut: Jax (1-3, 25% win rate). Counter Strike dodges his Q or basic attacks, and Jax simply out-trades him after an E stun — a classic bad matchup. Next is Naafiri (33%). On the flip side, he's strong against Gnar (undefeated) and Lee Sin (67%).

Runes, summoner spells and boots shift by matchup

  • Keystone: mainly Grasp of the Undying (15 of 18 games), switching to Conqueror for messier matchups
  • Summoner spells: the most flexible slot. Flash plus Exhaust (8) is his base, swapping in Ghost or Ignite by matchup. Flash plus Smite shows up in 5 games too — he occasionally jungles as well
  • Boots: Plated Steelcaps dominate (14). A safe bet given how often opponents are AD-heavy

Abilities go Q first (Q into E into W). Landing the outer edge of Q gets him healing and damage at the same time.

What to take from this OTP

  • For Darius, the priority is simply not disasterizing the early game. Games where his deaths double are almost always lost
  • Keep fixed: Q-first leveling, opening with Youmuu's Ghostblade, Plated Steelcaps
  • What to change: summoner spells (Exhaust / Ghost / Ignite, occasionally Smite) and armor by matchup
  • Jax is a fair enough matchup that just banning him is a reasonable call
