Riot's Own Attack, Defense, Magic, and Difficulty Ratings: 4 Champions Score a Flat Zero, Only 2 Hit a Perfect 10 in Defense
2026-09-26

We tallied Riot's own 0-10 attack, defense, magic, and difficulty ratings across all 173 champions. Four score a flat zero across the board, while only two ever hit a perfect 10 in defense.
I ran the numbers on League's attack, defense, magic, and difficulty ratings, the 0-10 scale from the champion details screen, across all 173 champions. Akshan, Seraphine, Rell, and Vex all land on a flat 0 across all four categories. On the flip side, only Galio and Rammus hit a perfect 10 in defense.
What these numbers actually are
Attack, defense, magic, and difficulty are Riot's own 0-10 ratings for each champion, stored in Data Dragon's info field. They're the source data behind the bar charts you see on the champion details screen. Worth saying upfront, these aren't derived from win rates or damage logs, they're just labels Riot assigned itself.
Four champions rated 0 across the board
| All four at 0 | Attack | Defense | Magic | Difficulty |
|---|---|---|---|---|
Akshan | 0 | 0 | 0 | 0 |
Seraphine | 0 | 0 | 0 | 0 |
Rell | 0 | 0 | 0 | 0 |
Vex | 0 | 0 | 0 | 0 |
Akshan leans physical, Seraphine is a support-mage hybrid, Rell is a tank, Vex is a mage, four completely different kits. The fact that all four land on the exact same 0/0/0/0 line reads less like a strength assessment and more like the rating field was simply never filled in. Difficulty being 0 too fits that same story, labeling just hasn't caught up.
Only two champions have a perfect 10 in defense
| Defense 10 | Attack | Defense | Magic | Difficulty |
|---|---|---|---|---|
Galio | 1 | 10 | 6 | 5 |
Rammus | 4 | 10 | 5 | 5 |
Ten champions hit a perfect 10 in magic, among them Anivia, Annie, and Ryze, and seven hit a perfect 10 in attack, including Fiora and Vayne. Defense is the outlier, only Galio and Rammus clear the bar. Whatever Riot's internal standard for "obviously defensive" is, it's a much narrower gate than the other two categories.
Difficulty extremes: nine champions at 10, only two at 1
| Difficulty 10 | Attack | Defense | Magic |
|---|---|---|---|
Anivia | 1 | 4 | 10 |
Aphelios | 6 | 2 | 1 |
Ambessa | 9 | 2 | 0 |
Evelynn | 4 | 2 | 7 |
Cassiopeia | 2 | 3 | 9 |
Nilah | 8 | 4 | 4 |
Bel'Veth | 4 | 2 | 7 |
Yasuo | 8 | 4 | 4 |
Rumble | 3 | 6 | 8 |
On the low end, excluding the four zeroes, only Miss Fortune (8/2/5) and Morgana (1/6/8) sit at difficulty 1, everyone else scatters at 2 or higher. Aphelios landing at 10 despite lacking Yasuo's flashy movement makes sense once you remember his whole kit is built around juggling weapon swaps.
K'Sante tops the combined score
Add attack, defense, and magic together and K'Sante comes out on top at 23 (8+8+7). Diana and Malphite tie for second at 21. Excluding the zero group, the lowest is Qiyana at 0+2+4=6, and it's not simply that spiky assassins score low across the board.
Takeaway
These four categories aren't tuning data, they read like a set of beginner-facing labels Riot slapped on for its own convenience. Still, seeing only two champions clear a perfect 10 in defense while ten do it in magic suggests Riot's internal bar for "obviously tanky" is unusually strict. And the four champions still stuck at 0/0/0/0 look like proof that labeling newer champions just hasn't kept pace with releases.
